We are Whalesong Lodge Guesthouse, and our website address is:  We are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our website visitors, and we can assure you that we don’t sell, trade or otherwise share email lists with other companies for marketing purposes.  This Privacy Policy provides you with more information about when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, how we keep it secure and the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Contact Information

When you contact us by email, we will retain your email address and other information that you email to us for a period of five (5) years.  When you make a booking with Whalesong Lodge, either online or offline, we will retain your name, address and identity information for a period of five (5) years.

Website Cookies

Like most websites, we use cookies to collect information on  Cookies are small data files which are placed on your computer or other devices (such as smartphones or ‘tablets’) as you browse this website.  They are used to ‘remember’ when your computer or device accesses our website.

When someone visits we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Booking Rooms through our site

Bookings made through are handled by our booking partner, Nightsbridge Accommodation, and you will be redirected to their site when you select “Book Now” on  Your booking will therefore also be subject to Nightsbridge’s Privacy Policy.

Who we share your data with

We do not share your personal data with any other person or organisation, except to the extent that your anonymised data is shared with third parties such as Google Analytics as noted above.

Where your data is stored

Your personal information is secured on a password encrypted system on site.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
